Mercom Announces New Board and Navy Contract Win

February 26, 2019, PAWLEYS ISLAND, SC – Mercom Corporation, a federally focused information technology (IT) solutions provider, is pleased to announce the appointment of two new Directors to its Board as well as new officers.   Joining the Board of Directors are Josh Hatter and James (Jim) Kier.  Officers elected are Josh Hatter as Vice President, Jimmy Coggin as Secretary, and Kim Sanborn as Treasurer.

Jim Kier is a former Naval Officer working in Special Projects supporting the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) and founder of WareonEarth Communications which was acquired by Secure Missions Solutions in 2009.  In October 2010, Jim led KSH Solutions, Inc as CEO of the company and it was successfully acquired by ECS Federal in 2015.  Currently, Jim is Senior Vice President of ECS Federal responsible for Cyber Solutions and Digital Modernization.   Jim is a graduate from Park University and received his Master of Science from National Louis University.

Josh Hatter is Vice President of Capture for Ishpi Information Technologies (ISHPI) where he leads the business development efforts and strategy for long term growth.  Formerly, Josh successfully led Business Development efforts with General Dynamics Information Technology where he captured over $2 Billion in contract awards.  Prior to joining General Dynamics, Josh directed business development for SAIC, is a graduate of the College of Charleston and received his Master of Business Administration from the Darla Moore School of Business.

Kim Sanborn, Director of Finance for Mercom was elected Treasurer and Jimmy Coggin, Director of Operations was elected Secretary.  Kim was formerly VP of Operations for Oceana Resorts and CFO of Wyndham Vacation.  Jimmy previously served as the Program Manager for Leidos leading several secure projects.

Mercom was recently awarded the Navy’s SeaPort-NxG Multiple Award IDIQ Contract where the “government estimates approximately $5 billion of services will be procured per year.”  The SeaPort-NxG MAC has a 5-year base contract, and 5-year option providing engineering support services and program management support services to the Department of Defense.   “We have positioned ourselves well heading into 2019 and are excited about this year.
